Seneca College CITE Building

Architect:
Perkins +  Will

General Contractor:
EllisDon Construction

Address:
1750 Finch Ave. E., Toronto

Seneca’s Centre for Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship (CITE) is home to the mechatronics and mechanical engineering technology programs.  It houses laboratories, lecture halls and collaborative work spaces.

In the design stage, Trillium worked with Perkins + Will to develop a complete door and hardware specification that is in line with the college’s exacting standards.  We were later contracted by EllisDon to supply and install the complete package of hardware, automatic door operators, wood doors and hollow metal doors and frames.

The project features many oversized hollow metal screens, transoms and sidelights that were shipped in pieces, then assembled and welded on site.

Hardware includes high-security interchangeable core cylinders, bollard-style push buttons, and electrified mortise locks.

Trillium painted the doors and installed hardware before delivering them to the project, significantly reducing our foot print and time spent on site.  Read more about the advantages of pre-painting and pre-installation here.
