Purpose<\/span><\/h2>

In compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005, the purpose of this policy is to outline responsibilities of staff personnel (employees, volunteers and other third parties) on behalf of Trillium Architectural Products Ltd.\u00a0(Trillium) in providing goods, services and opportunities to people with disabilities.<\/p>

Trillium commits to provide its goods, services and opportunities in a way that respects the independence and dignity of people with disabilities. We strive to give those with disabilities the same opportunities to benefit from our services and opportunities, in the same place and in a similar way as others.<\/p>

While we do our best to be prepared for positive interactions with people who have disabilities, we recognize that people with disabilities are best suited to inform us on what accommodations they require.\u00a0 We will listen to and work with customers, visitors and employees with disabilities to understand their needs and deliver our goods, services and opportunities in a way that works for them.<\/p>

Providing goods, services and opportunities to people with disabilities<\/span><\/h3>

Trillium is dedicated to excellence in serving all our customers and employees, including those with disabilities.<\/p>

\u200bWe demonstrate this dedication in the areas of:<\/em><\/p>

Communication and telephone services<\/strong><\/p>

We communicate with people with disabilities in ways that take into account their disability. We train our personnel on how to interact and communicate with people with different types and degrees of disabilities. This includes using clear and plain language, and speaking both clearly and slowly.<\/p>

Assistive devices<\/strong>
We train staff to be familiar with various assistive devices that may be used by people with disabilities while accessing our goods, services or opportunities.<\/p>

Billing<\/strong>
We commit to providing accessible invoices to all of our customers and providing invoices in alternate formats upon request. We will answer any questions customers may have about the content of the invoice in person, by telephone or email.<\/p>

Use of service animals<\/strong>
We welcome people with disabilities who are accompanied by a service animal into the public areas of our facility. We will also ensure that all staff personnel are properly trained in how to interact with people with disabilities who are accompanied by a service animal.<\/p>

Support persons<\/strong>
We welcome people with disabilities who are accompanied by a support person to enter Trillium\u2019s premises.<\/p>

Employment<\/strong>
We are committed to welcoming and accommodating people with disabilities with respect to recruitment, employment, training, career development and career progression.<\/p>

Facilities<\/strong>
We are committed to ensuring that our premises and services are welcoming and accessible to people with disabilities. We are willing to provide necessary alterations to our facilities or other accommodations so people with disabilities can access our facilities.<\/p>

Notice of temporary disruption<\/span><\/h3>

Trillium will provide notice in the event of a planned or unexpected disruption in the facilities or services usually used by people with disabilities. This will include information about the reason for the disruption, its anticipated duration and a description of any available alternatives.<\/p>
